Creepy Nighttime Visit...

This is mostly for Kiersti because she's funny about her kids coming in her room at night hence the title Creepy Nighttime Visit!

Set up: Middle of the night, house is dark, everyone is asleep (including the dog who insists on snuggling right up to me under the covers) my bedroom door slowly creaks open and I hear a quiet "Mom"

Shawna: "Mom..."
Me: "what do you need honey"
Shawna standing at the foot of my bed: "You know when you get that thing and you know, I can't remember what it's called, but I don't want to go back to bed"
Me: "Shawna what are you talking about it's the middle of the night you have to go back to bed you can't stay up"
Shawna now at the side of my bed: "I know, but do you know that thing with rotations? I can't remember what it's called but I don't want to do that thing with rotations!"
Me sitting up now and getting frustrated and confused: "Are you awake?!?!?!"
Shawna: "YES"
Darrell barely rolling over to look at us: "Shhhhh I'm sleeping"
Me: "Are you talking about school rotations?"
Shawna: "Yes I don't want to go to school"
Me: "Too bad, let's get you back in bed"

Time to wake up...

Me: "Shawna, what were you talking about in my room in the middle of the night?"
Shawna: "I didn't go in your room!"

GO FIGURE! EITHER I WAS HAVING THE MOST WEIRD AND REALISTIC DREAM EVER OR MY KID IS A CREEPY SLEEPWALKER!!!!

Quick Annie update...

The cast is off!! YAY!!! She's actually showered "the leg" and from what I hear it was totally disgusting and covered in hair and dead skin! I haven't seen yet! She has to wear a boot now for 4 weeks because her ankle is really weak and can easily slip and pop the screws (OUCH!) and she has to start physical therapy next week (OUCH, OUCH!!) But hopefully in 4 weeks she'll be back to normal!

Confessions...

With the girls out of school today I wanted to have them do something fun, at first I thought I'd just drop them off at the movie theater since I had to work, but on 2nd thought wouldn't it be fun to do a girls afternoon with the 3 of us?!?!? Thanks so much to my wonderful boss for allowing me to go! I'm so thankful to have the kind of job where I can do fun stuff like this with my girls! I'm also soooo glad that my kids want to "hang out" with me and do fun things like this! I miss the times when they were little, but now they're older there's these types of fun things to look forward to as well! I highly recommend the movie if you want to laugh and just spend a couple hours not thinking about anything important! Great fun for a girls afternoon or nite out!

18 years ago yesterday...

18 years ago yesterday 2 geeky high school students sat in a car in the high school parking lot. The girl was freaking out because she was going to be late for class, the boy telling her not to worry she'd make it on time (not much has changed!). Finally the boy handed her a Valentine card. Little did she know that this day would be monumental in their long life together! Yep, Darrell was the boy (not so geeky actually!) and I was the girl (I'd like to think I wasn't geeky!) and 18 years ago yesterday Darrell asked me to be his Valentine forever! I'm so thankful for that day, and the many many others we've shared together. I'm still not sure how my parents survived, we were sooooo young! But now 18 years later we're still going strong!

I thought I was fat! Now I find out I was just weighing myself wrong this whole time!!! Someone needs to let my doctor know!

1. Sitting in front of the TV, what's on the screen? History Channel or 1 of the thousands of news networks out there (Learning stuff! YUCK!) He's a huge channel surfer but mostly between these types of shows.
2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad? ranch or sometimes bleu cheese
3. What's one food he doesn't like? tomatoes

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? Guns, guns, and more guns. And lately Bow stuff (bow and arrows)
8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? Anything I make (see #6)
9. What would this person eat everyday if he could? La Puente or anything Meat and Potatoish
10. What is his favorite cereal? I got the best deal on cereal the other day (20 free boxes) and he made me buy cinnamon life but he also really wanted fruity pebbles!! (He'll say that was for the girls but he's been seen eating them!)
11. What would he never wear? Flip Flops! (I have a hard time getting him to wear sandals when we go boating!)
12. What is his favorite sports team? the Jazz, the Raiders
13. Who will he vote for? the most conservative candidate
14. Who is his best friend? Me, and lots and lots of others because he's such a likeable guy!
15. How many states has he lived in? Utah, Idaho, Hawaii
16. Does he have any nervous habits? None that I will mention
17. What could he spend hours doing? puttering around in the back garage, I still don't know what he's doing back there but he can be there for hours on end!
18. He is: above all else, a loving hubby and fabulous dad for our girls! I couldn't ask for more!
